I wish someone could start writing a guide book on a step by step guide to getting married in Singapore.I never knew that there is actually a long queue at ROM?!?!? Puzzled right...well for those who may want to get married in the near future, please follow the steps to ROM.
1. Go to ROM website (www.rom.gov.sg)
2. Get ready your parent's and both of your IC numbers
3. Log-on 5 mins before midnight to book the date you want 3months down the road(Remember it is midnight!! We were both shock when we were trying to book a particular date and it is not available.Do not wait till the last min)
4. 5mins should be enough for you to type thru the online form
5. Prepare to key in your credit card no! $26 per booking.
6. After you submit the forms, you will be given time slots to choose. Remember to decide on your "Best Time" beforehand. Pick fast, there are other couples who are also choosing at the exact moment. Don't "Ka Lang Ka Boh"
7. You will be provided with a notice number whereby you can retrieve the filed data and a list of things to note for your solemnization. Don't worry if you do not have money to buy a ring. It is optional!!
8. Backing out of the marriage - you will have about 1 week before the actual date to back out of the marriage. as long as there is no verification from both of you, your solemnisation will be cancelled. Phew.....Happy filing!
